Presbyterian Women
Hello and welcome to Presbyterian Women, (known as P.W.)
We meet at 8pm on the second Wednesday of each month from September to April. As a fellowship we encourage women both to become and to grow as disciples of Christ, our motto being "Living for Jesus".
As supporting mission at home and overseas is one of our main aims, an important part of each meeting is, therefore, the message brought by our speakers.
Support is given, through the P.W. mission fund within P.C.I. to deaconesses, overseas mission personnel and projects such as the witness of the church of North India.
Each year in November we have an annual service and our November meeting takes the form of personal effort where the ladies are encouraged to use their talents and many items made by the ladies are sold at the end of the evening.
We also look after the catering for the "Young at Heart" party in December as well as delivering a gift of a fruit basket to the more unifirm members of our congregation. The year ends with an enjoyable extra - the everpopular bus trip outing which takes place on the last Saturday in May.
We also have an opportunity for fellowship with other P.W. groups at the Spring rally.
"Wider World" is the P.W. magazine and ladies are encouraged to subscribe (£5 per year - published quarterly) for encouragement, news, storeies and book reviews.
